Cost Sponsor Funding Undaunted is sponsored in part by the Department of National Defense (DND) through the national cadet program. Undaunted is also sponsored by the Navy League of Canada Calgary Branch which provides funding (in whole or in part) for many additional events and activities not funded by DND. Cost As a part of the national Cadet program, there is no cost to join or participate in any DND-sponsored activity, including among other things, regular parades, uniforms and summer training. Undaunted offers many activities beyond those provided by DND. To maintain the excellent program offered by Undaunted, parents and/or guardians are asked to join the Navy League of Canada (NLC) Calgary Branch in order to assist in its fundraising activities. Purchasing a NLC membership helps to ensure the costs to run our dynamic program are covered. Membership is $50.00/cadet/year (to a family maximum $100.00 per year). These fees are used to directly support Undaunted's non-DND funded program costs. We regret that we cannot accept payment by credit card. While we can accept personal cheques upon approval, to reduce costs we request that payment for memberships and additional acitivities be made in cash if possible. Fundraising and Volunteering Expectations Fundraising is essential to offer our cadets an exciting and dynamic program. Parents/guardians are asked to participate in fundraising efforts to assist the Calgary Branch in providing the funds to support an enriched and diversified program for the cadets.
Fundraising may include:
Other fundraising and volunteering opportunities are available if a parent/guardian is unable to participate in one particular type of fundraising. Alternatives can be suggested by the Calgary Branch. While the Calgary Branch covers most of the costs not covered by DND, parents or guardians may be required to contribute part of the cost for some optional activities if they wish their cadets to participate.
