#22 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps UNDAUNTED
Our Name and Crest
RCSCC UNDAUNTED is named after Her Majesty's Ship (HMS) UNDAUNTED.
- Eight ships of the Royal Navy have had the name UNDAUNTED.
- HMS UNDAUNTED has achieved seven (7) battle honours.
UNDAUNTED’s Corps Badge
is an Old World Peregrine falcon that is hooded and shackled, on a field of blue.
- The Peregrine falcon is a long-winged bird of prey, closely related to the hawk.
-
In flight their wingbeats are rapid and powerful and they swoop hundreds of feet
at speeds up to 175 mph to capture their prey.
UNDAUNTED's Corps Colours
are blue and gold.
- These colours are displayed in our crest.
UN-DAUN-TED
- (un-don’tid) is an adjective meaning not afraid, not discouraged, relentless and fearless.
RCSCC UNDAUNTED's Motto
is “BIENVENUE”.
- "Bienvenue" is "welcome" in French.
- In 1794, the British captured the French warship Bienvenue and renamed her HMS Undaunted.
- Since we are in a bilingual country and everyone is welcome at UNDAUNTED, this is a very fitting motto.
